About

In The Henry Beaufort School Mathematics Department, our aims are to:

The Mathematics course covers five different strands: Number, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and Ratio. Students will study a variety of topics in each of these strands as appropriate for the tier of entry that will be examined at the end of the course.

  • Help all students to meet the mathematical demands of life, both now and in the future.
  • Provide all students with the opportunity to build a sound basis for further mathematical study.
  • Help all students develop confidence in their own mathematical ability and reach their full potential.
  • Provide all students with the opportunity to gain enjoyment and satisfaction from the subject in its own right.

Entry Level Certificate in Mathematics

Our Entry Level Certificate in Mathematics has been designed specifically to complement the GCSE (9-1) Mathematics, enabling lower attaining students to develop the underpinning mathematical skills and understanding to provide a progression route to GCSE Mathematics.  This qualification is offered to specific students in Years 10 and 11.  Students will have the opportunity to gain either: Entry Level 1, 2 or 3 Certificate in Mathematics.
